PrairieJune - July Currents Update: Prairie CCA Chapter Prairie Chapter had their thirteenth annual fund raiser at Cat Spring Hall on April first. Three hundred ninety attended the banquet, which was catered by Jerry Mikulski’s BBQ. This included thirty-one corporate tables. Members and guests enjoyed prime rib and quail. The evening events included a card game gun raffle of nine different guns, a dollar pistol raffle, a five dollar bucket raffle drawing, and a silent auction along with a live auction. The live auction included such items as numbered prints, a fishing trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, an offshore Texas Gulf fishing trip, a guided bay fishing trip on the Texas coast, a mystery cooler, a catered dinner provided by the chapter board members, a dove hunt as well as other items. Mark Switzer, board member, was the auctioneer. We would like to thank all of the board members and sponsors for their support for a successful banquet. Upcoming events for Prairie Chapter include our annual Kids Fishing Tournament, which will be held August 14 at the Eberly Ranch in Chappell Hill. A jam-packed Cat Springs Hall witnessed a super auction with auctioneer, Mark Spitzer at the controls. Mikeska’s Catering presented the prime rib and quail in a way that fed the crowd in record time. The silent auction, Gun raffle, and bucket raffle all were hugely successful; thanks to Colman Todd and his CCA staff, Wesley Goebel and his gun raffle crew, and our own Prairie lovlies-Mandy Goebel, Erin Beaman, Jennifer Flentge, Amy Herbrig, Carla Reichardt and Courtney Reichardt for raffle ticket sales and auction assistance.
