20TH Anniversary Celebration
State of Texas Angler’s Rodeo (STAR)
Scheduled to Kick-Off at Sunrise, Sat. May 23rd

May 23rd will mark the kick-off of the 20th Anniversary CCA Texas State of Texas Angler’s Rodeo!  WOW!!! Looking back it’s hard to believe how fast these twenty years have flown!  As we look ahead, we want to thank Texas Parks and Wildlife for their work to help generate the highest populations of saltwater game fish ever recorded.  There’s sure to be some “speck-tacular” fishing action awaiting us this summer.  We also want to extend a huge thanks to the many generous sponsors, past and present, for caring about our precious marine resource and supporting our work.  They are the reason the last two decades have bee possible to offer this wonderful event to our members.  Most of all, we want to thank you, our loyal members.  In today’s world, we are surely reminded to count what really counts.  Please make a pledge to devote more time to go fishing with family and friends this year!  What a way to celebrate!

ford1logo.gifIt’s time to get spooled up and ready for another great season of fishing fun!  The 20th Annual State of Texas Anglers Rodeo is scheduled to kick off at sunrise Saturday, May 23 and will run through Monday, Sept. 7 (Labor Day) and our 20th Anniversary Celebration will have some new and exciting things in store!  The ever-popular Texas Ford Dealers Redfish Division will return offering the ALL NEW 2009 Ford F-150 Texas Edition truck, connected to a BRAND NEW boat prize.  We are proud to announce that a boat built right here in the good ‘ole Lone Star State will be the 20th Anniversary redfish boat prize… the Haynie 23 Bigfoot! Each will come with a Mercury 150 EFI motor and Coastline Trailer!  To help us commemorate our 20th Anniversary, the Texas Ford Dealers Board voted unanimously for us to release 50% more tagged redfish!!! That means instead of the 60 tagged redfish normally released, the amount released will increase to 90!!!  The 19 year history shows on the average about one-third of the tagged redfish are being caught each year, but sadly by very few anglers registered for the tournament at the time of catch.  Just last year, a total of SEVENTEEN were caught, but only THREE were fortunate enough to drive home a truck/boat combo.  As we prepare for the 20th Anniversary of STAR, let’s break the old cycle.  You’re going to enter anyway, so why wait?  Why take a chance and possibly forget?  There are FOURTEEN unlucky anglers from last year that wish they wouldn’t have procrastinated or taken a chance of wetting a line without registering!  Don’t let this happen to you!!!  We’re doing our part by releasing more redfish and we ask that you help us by encouraging everyone you know to get registered for the 2009 STAR.  Let’s make the 20th Anniversary STAR the year that all TEN Redfish Division prizes are won!

By entering NOW, not only will you avoid the possible shame and embarrassment of “missing the boat”, and losing out on a shot at over $1,000,000 in great prizes, but you will also be automatically entered into the special Early Bird Drawing.  See details below…
