Fort Bend

June - July Currents Update: Fort Bend CCA Chapter

In the mist of banquet preparations the Fort Bend Chapter hosted a General Membership Meeting in March with our guest speaker being Chester Moore. If you have never heard Chester Moore speak, than you are missing out on a real treat.  I spoke to one gentleman that had been a CCA card holder for over twenty years and had never come to a CCA event, until then. We all felt the G.M.M. was a great way to give a little back to our community and members. Thanks to Chester and all the men and woman that made our first G.M.M. in ten years a big hit.

After months of hard work and preparation from our Ft. Bend committee members, our 2010 banquet has come to an end. If you didn’t make it out this year it was a very large time. We didn’t have as many people in attendance as we normally do but, we still had over 350 people attend this year’s banquet for a good time, good fellowship and hopes of a big win. Thanks again to all our sponsors, donors, participants and members.

Our next big event is our “Ladies Only” fishing tournament in Matagorda. Lingerie On The Bay is scheduled for June 19, 2010. Entry forms can be found at www.matagordabay.com and www.wadefishing.com.

Also mark your calendars for The Jimmy Guest Memorial Kid’s Fishing Tournament in Matagorda on July 10, 2010. Information for this event can be found at www.matagordabay.com. Hope to see you all there!
