DallasJune - July Currents Update: Dallas CCA Chapter Wow!!!What an incredible banquet we had. The 29th annual Dallas Chapter banquet was held on April 29 at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. Nearly 250 people spent the evening bidding on over 130 items in our raffles, silent and live auctions. This year’s dinner was provided by Margaux’s Restaurant. A special thanks to our valued sponsors that continue to step up and make significant contributions to our success: Academy, Tailwaters Flyfishing Company (www.tailwatersflyfishing.com), Fishin’ World (www.fishinworld.com), Adventure Experiences, Inc (www.aeihunting.com),The Bohlin Company (www.bohlinmade.com), the Flagg Group Taxidermists (www.theflagggroupinc.com), Tarpon Key Lodge (www.tarponkeylodge.com), eLighters.com (www.elighters.com), Dos Rios Preserve (www.dosriospreserve.com), Clear Fork Country (www.clearforkcountry.com), Dallas Gold and Silver (www.dgse.com), artist Larry Rackley (www.yellowfingallery.com),carver RD Wilson (www.uncleRD.com), Swan Kennels, Outdoors Unlimited, Livingston Lures, Robin Jackson Photography, Mariner Sails, Harold Stringer, Rick Buferd,Bill Kipp, Pirate Lanford, Mike Price, John Hansen, Craig Jones, and Forrest Vollentine. We also elected a new president for the next two years, John Hansen. John has been actively serving on our executive committee several years and will do a great job in growing our membership, increasing local participation from our sponsors, and hosting the best banquets. Craig Jones and Robert DiCicco were re-elected into their positions as Vice President and Treasurer, respectively. Congratulations! It’s been my pleasure to serve as President the past two years; it’s been an incredible experience. The best part about it has been the opportunity to work with so many great volunteers and concerned conservationists to promote CCA’s mission and projects. And, I’d like to thank the executive committee for their support and hard work in making our chapter and banquet a success. They are an incredible group of volunteers. I will join the executive committee for the chapter and continue to work hard to make the chapter, and CCA, successful. The chapter will be represented in the Inter Chapter Challenge fishing tournament in June. In the next CURRENTS, we can report our success - watch out coastal chapters - the Dallas gang knows how to fish! Stay tuned for another summer cookout at Tailwaters Fly Fishing Company in July.
