June - July Currents Update: Dallas CCA Chapter

Dinner, Raffles, Auctions, and Flying Touts

If you attended the 2011 Dallas CCA Banquet – you know what the title of this article is referring to.

Thank you to all the donors, participants, and chapter board members who supported the 2011 Dallas CCA Banquet.  We Texans know how to party and have fun; and Thursday, April 28th was no exception. It was a super evening and all together, we really did some good for Coastal Conservation in Texas.

Donors – you delivered on some outstanding donations this year. Items included a Rolex watch, Ranger UTV, Hobie Kayak, outstanding framed art and bronzes, and even some “very special” and “one of a kind” items, including hand carved decoys, antique outboard motors, and a very happy and energetic black lab puppy (whose new name is “Jake”).  Also a very special thanks goes out to the guides and outfitters for their generous donations of fishing trips, hunts, and other unique experiences that some of our attendees will be enjoying over the next year.  Also, the list of manufacturers and retailers who were very generous with their merchandise donations is too long to list – but please know how much we truly appreciate your very generous donations as well.

Participants – Without you, there is no banquet.  You take the time out of your schedules to bring friends, family and business associates to this once a year event.  You… are CCA.  Along with your banquet ticket, you either became or renewed your membership with CCA.  We want to especially thank you for the continued support through your donations and time that you have given to the CCA Dallas Chapter, which is now in its 30th year.  The accomplishments you have supported over the years are tremendous.  Reports this year are indicating exceptional quality Redfish and Speckled Trout catches.  Habitat is continuing to be restored and cleaned up.  And CCA is working with various Federal and State agencies to ensure proper and balanced management of our coastal resources.  Chapter Board Memebers – did we have fun or what?

Upcoming Events – Inter Chapter Challenge will be held June 10-12,If you are interested please contact me soon, we have a few spots available and are looking to repeat our championship finish of 2010.   We have additional events for our CCA members coming up over the next 12 months and we’ll be posting these to the Dallas CCA website and Dallas CCA facebook page as dates are firmed up.  Also, if you have ideas for events you’d like to see, please let us know.  http://www.ccatexas.org/dallas/

In closing, we just want to say “Thank You”.  You gals and guys are the best!

Warmest Regards – Dallas CCA
