CHAPTER INFORMATION

  • On October 24, 2017, we will host a General Membership Meeting at the Elk’s Lodge in Weslaco. Come and visit with Texas Parks and Wildlife and CCA Texas representatives as we discuss the current status of the fishery in the Lower Laguna Madre. Biologists will be on hand to discuss the recent results for net and creel surveys, the methods used to determine changes in the management of the fisheries, current trends in the fishery and recent changes in fishery management for the Lower Laguna Madre and the rest of the state. CCA Texas Advocacy Director Shane Bonnot will be there to discuss how changes are made on the legislative and the TPWD Commission levels. CCA Texas Assistant Director and Habitat Today for Fish Tomorrow Director John Blaha will also be on hand to give an update on habitat projects up and down the Texas coast, and other CCA news. This is a great opportunity to come and visit your fellow anglers and ask questions you might have about the status of Texas fisheries. For more information, contact John Blaha at (713) 626-4222 or jdblaha@ccatexas.org
