Greetings from the Coastal Bend. Whew! We are still trying to put the last banquet to bed, but we are already gearing up for next year.  I want to wish all the other Chapters “good luck!” in your upcoming banquets – time to hit a home run, and remember, its all “for the fish” as Randy Poelma says.  I would like to again thank some of our sponsors for the banquet, including Environmental Evolution Energy Services LLC, Harte Research Institute (Isnapper), and Nyati Services Inc.  We are also gearing up for the Inter-Chapter Challenge this year, and Corpus Christi Board members are already pre-fishing and assuring me that they are going to place at or near the top this year. Bring on the competition!  See you all in Aransas Pass.

Other than that, we are looking forward to our upcoming events, the Poco Rojo kidfish tournament (which will be interesting this year!), the Guides Cup (contact Bruce Laser at to learn how to sponsor the Guides Cup), and of course our perennial favorite, the ladies fishing tournament Babes on Baffin. Lauren Roesener is again heading up the charge this year as Director, with her returning super-committee comprised of Judy Arnold, Valerie Chilton, Michelle Gutierrez, Margaret Ehman, Angie Baines, and the rest of the ladies. Please contact Lauren at to find out how to sponsor this event, and of course watch the website at to keep up with the dates and latest news on the event, and to register.  Y’all stay cool out there this summer, and have fun on the water!
