I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and got to spend some quality time with family and friends. 2017 definitely had various challenges, and Texans faced those challenges head-on! Our prayers go out to those who continue to recover.

One of the Heart of the Hills Rising Tide members, Elli Plummer (age 11), spent the last  afternoon of 2017 hunting in below-freezing temperatures in the Hill Country with her little brother, Marshall, and me. We spent many hours hunting in November and December and she was finally successful in taking her first deer, a 4-point whitetail buck, within several hundred yards of where I in '79, her grandmother in '67, her grandfather in '55 and her great-grandmother in ?? took first bucks.

May you have a happy and prosperous 2018! Make this the year you share our treasured Texas traditions with a young family member or friend. – Randy Plummer, (830) 377-0737
